So I found a bunch of old video clips that I took back when I was starting to explore video making but still had no idea what I was doing (I still don’t lol). I figured I’d edit them and put them up here anyways. So this video is about Charm City Night Market, a festival in Baltimore that celebrates Baltimore’s historic Chinatown and the AAPI community that calls the city and its surrounding areas home.
I’ve gotten to befriend and work with many members of the Charm City Night Market and they’re good people who are very passionate about what they are doing. They’re not only looking back, educating people about Baltimore’s historic Chinatown, but they’re also celebrating the present and the future by highlighting AAPI artists and restaurants in Baltimore and DC and by advocating for issues important to the AAPI community to developers, politicians, restaurants and more.
As such, though food doesn’t take center stage in this video, the mission and vision of Charm City Night Market was important enough that I figured it was worth sharing.
If you’re in the Baltimore area and free on March 30, they got a Night Market Underground event going on in Baltimore’s famous Graffiti Alley, near historic Koreatown. And if that wasn’t cool enough, awesome people like Masako of Otabe DC, Vivian of Lei Musubi, and Monica and Nalee of Daikaya will be serving food and drinks that night! It’ll be super fun!
